About Amanda

My name is Amanda Gibson. The idea for The Storied Portrait began with a conversation with my grandmother.

One day I decided to sit down with her and simply ask questions about her life. I expected to hear stories I already knew, but what unfolded was something completely different. As the conversation continued, memories surfaced that I had never heard before.

She spoke about her childhood, her family, the challenges she faced, and the moments that shaped who she became. Just by asking thoughtful questions and giving her space to reflect, I discovered parts of her life that had never been shared before.

That experience changed how I saw the people around me. I realized that every person carries a lifetime of stories that often remain untold simply because no one ever asks the right questions.

The Storied Portrait was created to preserve those voices and memories. Through calm, guided conversations filmed with care and intention, each session becomes a cinematic keepsake that allows families to hear the stories, reflections, and personality of someone they love for generations.

This work is not about creating a performance. It is about creating space for someone to be fully present and share the story of who they are.
